Cultural Celebration

Can anyone tell me why the Cultural Celebration for Temple Dedications isn't broadcast? We would love to see the celebrations from the various regions around the world.

It was when our temple was rededicated. That might be a decision on a individual basis - perhaps based on where it takes place, what it would take to cover it, etc.

I think it's safe to say that trying to cover the cultural celebration would be significantly more involved than the temple dedication.

The temple events are local for the temple district. The Church treats it as a very local revelatory experience meant for those in the district. It's similar to stake conference broadcasts with General Authorities, they are for the stake, even if it's wonderful that everyone hears what an apostle might say, the message isn't intended for them.

Sometimes the cultural celebrations include copyrighted music or video clips as part of the show, that might not be licensed for wide distribution. That could be another reason why they're limited.
