Creating an unofficial Public Affairs Wiki / Website

New Stake Public Affairs person here - quick question: What is the Church's policy for creating an unofficial wiki / website for our Stake?

The goal is to create a personalized and centralized repository for our Stake members to post links, videos, etc from Church and 3rd party sites (like Faith Counts). Would also like to to make it easy for members to get updated ideas on news, events, etc that they can share with their friends.

It would be opt in members only, so we'd keep this private.

Anyone know the policy here - can I create a site like the one described as long as it's unofficial and denoted as such?

The answer can be found at internet.lds.org

Be sure to read the whole thing.

I think the biggest issue is how to handle the logins. It's impractical to have individual logins for an entire stake. You'd probably have to go with a "shared" login - which means it won't be as controlled as you think.

You might want to look into the Newsletter feature on lds.org. Only specified people can add to it, but anyone in the stake with a lds account can see it. And management is handled automatically. There isn't enough space to put a lot of stuff on there, but you should be able to add PDFs with links in it.
