Historical Clerks & History Specialists

Can ward historical clerks and history specialists be sisters. Do any of you know of any policy statements that have been made on this question. I am currently a stake clerk and am trying to get the wards to call more help for annual histories.

Thanks.

Keeping a ward history falls under the responsibility of the ward clerk. The ward clerk can delegate this responsibility to Ward Assistant Clerks and/or History Specialists (as stake clerk you could make recommendations for how this should be organized), both of which are standard LCR callings. Ward Assistant Clerks must be Melchizedek priesthood holders, but as far as I know anyone can be a History Specialist.
