Stake Leaders need access to view all wards

There should be a way to allow Stake Leaders (Stake Presidency and Stake Auxiliary) to view newsletters for "Other" wards in their Stake besides their Home Ward. As it currently stands we can't even share posts and articles about Girls camp with the Stake Young Women's President because she resides in a different Ward. Perhaps a "View Permission" setting similar to the "Publish" and "Admin" settings ?

They never needed it before, why now? If its really important send it to them by e-mail.

Perhaps and e-mail would serve the purpose.

Really? You dont think there would be an advantage to allow a High councillor to view the newsletter for the ward he serves. Or a Stake President to view whats going on in his Stake?

Under the old 1.0 system, there was a "news and information" feature. I believe anyone could see the news for any ward of the stake. I'm sure the stake leaders could.

So it was there.

Really!!!!!!! While it would only be nice to have information, I don't see where it would be an advantage when you review the High Counselor responsibilities in the Handbook.

As for the Stake President I don't see where it would be advantages for him to have such detail information.

For years, since the Church has been organized there has not been a need to have the kind of information found in a ward bulletin or news letter available to stake leaders. If there was there would have been a mandate in the Handbooks to do so.

I personally believe it is a reasonable request and would be helpful to stake leaders.

It would also avoid the necessity of having to Friend all of the Facebook sites, set up RSS feeds for all of the blogs, and sign up for all of the email lists that are improperly propagated because of the inability to communicate in many situations using the current system.

Most stake presidents and leaders really do want to know what is going on in their stakes and stay in touch with their members.

But no, it is not necessary.

Looking at this from another perspective.
As the STS for our stake I periodically get inquiries about how to use a feature on LDS.ORG.
The "old ward web sites" were configured so the Stake Admin had access to all the wards, which came in handy when assistance was requested.

The way it's configured presently I have access to my own ward and to the stake sites. Having access to a ward's site would be very helpful.

It certainly sounds like a reasonable request to me. If people are concerned about privacy, maybe allow a checkbox to "share with Stake" for each article.

You can always submit this request via the "feedback" link on most lds.org pages. That's the main way to get your opinion to those who make decisions. It doesn't mean they'll ever do it. The newsletter is the newest tool. I imagine at some point they'll do some improvements.

I don't think the Handbooks address distributing copies of ward newsletters to stake leaders. Yet this practice has been done since wards started creating newsletters on paper.

Keep in mind, the Sunday School program didn't exist until 1859 when a church member by the name of Valentine started holding it for kids in his neighborhood to attend rather than playing outside Sunday mornings. It became a success and when Brigham Young heard about it he thought it was a good idea and standardized it throughout the church. The same type of thing happened with the church's welfare program, primary program, family home evening and other, now standard, church programs.

The point is, just because something isn't in the church handbook of instructions doesn't mean there isn't a need for it. There is an excellent LDSTech broadcast by Clayton Christensen at https://tech.lds.org/component/content/ ... hristensen you might be interested in watching.
