Lesson no replace by events

For some reason I found that I can't save an event that should replace a class in order to have all classes in order. I try to save either an event after January and does not appear. We were supposed to have the stake conference on 01/19 which should replace the class & is not doing it. I try to delete the class on that day only & is not letting me. Any help?
