Stake Administrators

Postby brereton » Tue May 29, 2012 11:09 pm

It appears that stake administrators cannot add events that apply to all units in the stake, nor can they add Teachings for our Time topics that apply to all units. This capability was in the prior version that was part of the old stake/ward websites. Is there any way to do this? If not, I hope it can be added in a future release. The alternative is for the stake administrator to email these stake controlled items to all the wards and hope they transcribe them correctly. It's also a lot more work for every unit to add items that should only need to be added once at the stake level.

Correct. Presently Stake administrators CANNOT add events, or specify lessons, or perform any function at a stake level.
From the help files:
Lesson Schedules is not available at the stake level, but stake leaders and clerks have administrative rights for their own ward so that they can learn how the application works and provide training and support to ward administrators.

It was noticed quickly while still being Beta tested, and the missing stake involvement was questioned, considering the stake specifies some of the lessons, and many threads deal with this.
Here is one, with some responses by developers stating why it was not granted:
Will there will be access to schedule classes at stake level?
More discussions could be entered on that thread.
