Not able to upload images

I am trying to upload pictures to my newsletter. I have tried a couple different formats and have made sure that the file was small enough. Each time I get an error message with a note that the image type is not allowed. I've tried with jpeg and png. I've tried using Chrome and Firefox.

I just tried adding images to an article. All were successful. I tried the format types .jpeg, .png, .jpg, .bmp, and .TIFF. I did not change any of the native sizes for uploading. The largest was 1.72 MB (1545 x 1024 pixels).
I am using FF 11.0.

To be clear, are you adding an "Attachment" or are you trying to use the "Insert Image" function in the body of the message?

Image file types are not listed as allowed types for attachments, but they are allowed if you "Insert Image" in the body.
