Having both Stake and Ward admin callings

I've been our ward's web admin for a number of years. Just recently I was called as an Assistant Stake Clerk.

Now that my user account is seen as a "stake calling" I no longer have access to help at the ward level with the new Lesson Scheduler.

What can be done about allowing for two levels of privileges, Ward level and/or stake level?

I like the fact that the responsibility for lesson scheduling is placed upon the leaders at the ward level.
The stake doesn't know what plans the ward has for various Sunday schedules. So letting the wards input Sunday School lessons as well as Priesthood, Relief Society, Primary and others makes sense. The ward's all receive lesson plans from the stake. Now they may teach the lessons on a different schedule as their circumstances dictate.

I can verify the same thing as reported here. As the STS for our stake and an Asst. Stake Clerk, I also work at the ward level as a Website Administrator. When attempting to view or modify the lessons I have no access.

According to the thread Ward Website Administrator as a Lesson Scheduler Administrator Please., the ward website administrator currently has no administrative permissions for the Lesson Schedules, but that was an oversight that will be rectified on the next deploy to the beta environment.

But both posts in this thread are from people whose only relevant ward calling is as a ward website administrator. So it seems premature to conclude that there is some conflict between stake and ward callings -- it seems much more likely to me that they are simply having no rights because no ward website administrator has rights at this time.

I think this has been discussed before in another thread, but there is a conflict between ward and stake callings. I was happy read that as a ward membership clerk I could edit addresses online in Clerk Resources site.... But my calling as Assistant Stake Clerk overrides this, and I don't have editing rights...

That is a different application then the lesson schedule application so it doesn't necessarily apply.
Also since stake callings don't have rights at all, I don't see why the would even be looking at those callings. The problem in clerk resources is they look at the list of your callings and 'prioritize' them. Your stake calling is a higher 'priority' and becomes the one the track for what rights you have.

I've confirmed in our test environment that when I hold both a stake and a ward admin calling, I do indeed get admin rights in the Lesson Scheduler. So I think the problem reported by the first two posters in this thread will resolve itself when we update the beta code.

Wouldn't it be possible to give a clerk with callings in both ward and stake the rights for both callings without cenceling either of them out?

This is definately forking away from the lesson scheduler app.

I talked to one of the developers and asked the same question. On some pages that seems easy, but there are places where the pages behave completely different based on your calling. So it isn't quite as easy as it sounds. They have some ideas for how to address it, but I'm not sure where it sits in their schedule.

I don't see how this is "forking" away from the lesson scheduler app.
If I can't use the app, then it is useless to me.
This alone makes it a very relevant and app specific question in this instance.
The fix very well may be general and apply to multiple apps but this thread is only concerned with the lesson scheduler.

I've been our ward web site admin for years and now that the assistant stake duties overroad my ward admin rights, there is a problem.
I'm simply asking questions about the problem I encountered.
I started a new threead because I didn't find another thread that discussed this very specific problem.

I do believe an earlier post, in this thread, answered my question.
Paraphrasing: The check is in the mail and when the program pulls out of beta the 'fix' will be installed in the released program.

I'll wait. I'm not losing sleep over this.
I'm sure you guys are finding lots of quirks.
Good luck.

The "forking" is the discussion of how a combination of stake callings and ward callings affects other applications. How other applications work or may work for people who have multiple callings is irrelevant to this thread and to this entire Beta Lesson Schedules subforum.

The simple fact is that the lesson scheduler application (through an oversight) gives no administrative rights to ward website administrators at this time, and that will be rectified soon.

This issue has nothing to do with stake callings. You may have wondered if your stake calling was impacting your expected administrative permissions at the ward level, but the answer is that it did not. There is no "overriding" in play here at all. All ward website administrators have the same experience in the lesson scheduler app, regardless of any other stake callings they have or don't have -- they currently are not admins, and they shortly will be.
