map doesn't display correctly, missing "blocks"

Using firefox 9.0.1 and IE, the background map, which was a hybrid of satellite and street, displays every other block only, with alternating blocks of black. Its almost a checkerboard pattern. Changing the zoom level doesn't correct this. At other times it displays fine.

I have not debugged it any more...it's an initial observation, but it makes the map unreadable. I'll make a screenshot if it happens again.

I've seen this, too, on occasion -- even on the production Maps application. Usually if I'm patient it all eventually appears, but sometimes it doesn't. In those cases I do a browser refresh and it's fine.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Yes, usually a browser refresh fixes it. I saw it in Firefox, and logged out, then went immediately ti IE, and it displayed it incorrectly there as well, with the same black blocks. Bandwidth issue? nteresting.
