Church apps a No Go on BN Nook Color

LDS Tools is no longer compatible with BN Nook Color ver. 1.4.3. it does not have access to Google Play and does not sideload apks unless the device is rooted(voiding it's warranty). This app worked fine with the previous ver.(1.4.1), now it doesn't. Same thing with the Gospel Library. BN tech spent an hour trying to get it to work, finally called his devs and they confirmed a problem on LDS's side. All my app info was on my microSD card, but it now no longer installs. At this point, should i jailbreak my device? REALLY don't want to. Any help would be great
