LDS Tools app and Pictures on LDS.org

I have noticed something strange with some of the member pictures. I am the ward clerk and I'm trying to update the directory. I have noticed that the pictures are showing up on the LDS.org website, but they are not showing up on the tools app. Yes I have already synced, and as the ward clerk I have already approved the pictures on the directory. Is there any reason why the picture would show on the lds.org side and not the tools app?

Thank you!

How long after the upload approval have you waited? Sometimes things have to take overnight for all the systems to talk to each other.

There's also a upgrade to the back end going on, so it might be related to that.

Could that upgrade have something to do with why I can update pictures from my phone, but can't update pictures from the computer? I was also trying to figure out how to assign a specific member to update directory pictures. So far she has just been collecting pictures and messaging them to me to update. We've been making people sign a paper saying they give consent. We also have a class where we're starting to teach them how to use lds logins for things.

How are you uploading them on your phone? Browser or LDS Tools?

What browser are you using on your computer? Have you tried another browser?

There is something strange going on for me as well but different. When I checked the online directory it said there were 43 photos waiting to be approved, yet the LDS tools app appeared to be showing the photos even though they hadn't been approved. Of the ones I checked only one was missing from LDS tools. The website says they are only supposed to show if they were approved.

That's been reported before. I'm not sure if that's just for the leaders or not.

At any rate, you might want to approve those photos.

Only those members with callings having administrator rights can update photos for other members not in their own household. Also note that only household members over 18 years of age have permission to update other members of the household photos.

Rights are granted by specific standard callings, such as "Ward Website Admin". However, all of those callings grant broad rights to a number of other on-line tools as well. For example, granting them admin rights to the ward calendars. Proceed with caution.

Where do pictures from the app go when there is an upload problem? I took a member picture through the app during a linger longer. After the member had walked away, I cropped and continued but got a message saying that the upload had failed and to try again later. I don't see where the picture is now or how to try again. I'd really prefer not to ask the member to do it again.

It should be on your phone somewhere, although I am not sure exactly where you might find it.
