Mapping Young Single Adults

Our Young Single Adult branch president can see all of the members of his branch in Maps. The branch supports the entire stake, so members of his branch display throughout the stake.

He also can select the stake and see all of the members of the stake.

Is there any way for him to see only the other young single adults in the stake, or is he going to be busy manually plotting them for a few evenings this week?

It is not possible to select/display a subset of the stake membership other than by unit. He will not be able to manually plot stake YSAs. The branch must have the member records in the branch for the leaders of the branch to edit/verify locations.

That's true of the lds maps. He'd have to plot them manually in some other mapping tool. However, I don't think he's going to be able to see the list of stake members and know who the YSA are. I doubt if he has access to the marriage status or age for members outside of his unit.

One thing he can try is to use LDS Tools. As a leader he should have access to the reports. If he goes to the unit statistics for the stake then selects young single adults, that will show a list of all the YSA's. From there, there is a icon to show them all on the map.

I thought of that, but he is a leader in the branch, not the stake. Would he have access to stake reports?

I believe so, but I can't test that theory.

Thanks for your tip here as well as in this post last week! I had not yet discovered the group mapping features in LDS Tools. This is awesome!

Neither can I, but he can. I just sent him the suggestion and asked him to let me know if it works.

Is there any way to export the map that LDS Tools provides when you drop a list into it? That will be the next question he asks if it works. I think not.

I believe that the YSA branch president would not have access to the stake reports and would have no way himself of looking up YSA's whose membership records are in family wards throughout other units in the stake.

If he wants a list like that, ask the stake clerk and the stake clerk can generate a master list for him and send it to him as a PDF file.
