Map feature does not work at all

The map feature on the church website does not work at all on the desktop in our the ward clerks office. The page comes up but the map is blank and none of the icons work. The map works well on my home desktop but it would be a nice feature to use while working in the clerks office. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how to fix it?
Thanks.

I'm guessing your firewall is blocking google maps. To test that see if you can go to google maps in your browser. If not then you will have to work with your stake technology specialist to see if they can change the firewall level.

We can change the firewall level? We could with the ASA 5505, but I don't know of any thing we can do for the 881W.

The quick way to test the theory is to bring in a laptop and connect to the wireless. If it's the same problem, then it's probably the firewall. If the laptop is fine, then there's probably something missing/locked down on the clerk computer.

The ASA 5505 is what I was thinking of. I'm wondering if they are still on that older plan.

Google maps works fine, I've been using that to determine if new families live in our ward boundaries. The map feature also works with hand held android devices in the same room. So it doesn't sound like a firewall problem. Any other ideas?

But are they on a dataplan or using the church network?

Good question, honestly I'm not sure. I've always assumed that they were on their own data plan as I wasn't aware that the stake center had a wireless network. I'll find out. Thanks again.

OK, if they're on their own dataplan, then we haven't ruled out the church firewall as a problem.

Maps is working fine in our clerks office on WinXP/IE8 behind the 881W firewall.

I took my tablet into the clerks office today and logged into the Stake Center network and the map feature works just fine. The firewall settings must not be the issue. My ward clerk browsed through the internet options on the desktop and tried a few things but with no results. Thinking it might be a browser problem he downloaded the Mozilla Firefox internet browser and the map feature works good on it. So it sounds like the problem lays with the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 program that our desktop is using...any thoughts on how to fix it?
