Membership Audit - Marriage already recorded

Just completed my first membership audit for our ward. One recent convert, married to a member of the ward, came up as showing not married in the audit. His membership record was created by the mission, rather than the ward. I merged his record with his wife's record. Hers had their marriage information in it where he is noted as a non-member. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change their records to reflect her as the spouse. Their "Household" records show him as the HoH, her as OTHER, and their child as CHILD. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest you call Local unit support on Tuesday.

Any effort to fix it on your side is likely to record false divorces.

You could try to edit the marriage on the wife's side (change his birthdate and then change it back for example) making sure the full name is correct. It's possible it might then pick up the fact that he is now a member. If it does then it should update his record as well. It used to be in MLS that you could do that but I don't know whether it works in LCR. Based on how the web page acts I'm guessing it won't work in which case you'll need to call Local Unit Support like russellhltn suggested. But it may be worth a try.

Don't (as russellhltn aludes to) terminate the wife's marriage in order to record the marriage again. That would create a false marriage record.
