Is there a way or a plan for families to be able to see who is assigned to be there hometeacher? Or in a similar vein, for a hometeacher to view who is hometeaching families are? Currently, as EQ president, I can see who the assigned home teachers are in LDS Tools. Something similar to that would be sufficient.

At the moment, there is no way. Only leaders (including district supervisors) have access to this information.

We usually are not told about the Church's development priorities or features that will come. However, when the new home teaching/visiting teaching features were rolled out, some of the beta testers said that as members they were able to see something like "My Home Teachers." This did not make it in the final release. I was not a beta tester and and just going by what I saw some people write. We don't know if it will be a feature in the future, or if it was intentionally left out. Maybe it was too much information. Or maybe it will show up some day. We really don't know.

I do remember that as far as the idea of home teachers being able to self-report, that someone from the church said something about the concept of "return and report" and that gave the impression that we probably won't see self-reporting.

Thank you for the response. I am glad to hear that they have at least considered it. While it would be easier from a logistics view, I agree that the interaction of 'return and report' is far more significant. However, my question was centered on self-viewing, not self-reporting. While it may be merely an excuse, many non-visiting home teachers will tell me that a large part of the reason is because they don't know who they home teach. Also, it would save many printouts. Overall, I am a fan of the efforts the church has made to enable the use of technology in moving the work forward.
