When you pull up a member record and click on "Active" for the temple recommend, it shows a picture of a temple recommend and how it would be filled out. It shows the unit name and stake/mission in the popup picture. However, the picture shows the current unit and stake/district, not where the recommend was issued. I don't know that it matters that much, but since it was selected to show a picture of a recommend, rather than just the expiration date, I would expect that it shows where the recommend was issued, not where the records currently reside.
