I'm a Relief Society President. Under MLS I was able to assign Service Missionary sisters/couples (serving in my ward) to be visiting teachers with lists of sisters to visit. Under LCR, I am no longer able do do that.
I know there is a procedure that has to be done with their membership records to allow them to appear on our lists. Our ward clerk had taken care of that for MLS, but it hasn't transferred to LCR.
I currently have 4 missionary couples serving in my ward. It would be most helpful to be able to get those assignments up. Right now the sisters that are being helped and served by these missionaries are listed as not contacted. It is hard for my bishop to know who is being helped by these wonderful couples. Can we please get that fixed.

See this thread for a discussion involving this issue. See the last post in particular where a developer indicated that they had specific direction not to allow out of unit members to be assigned as home teachers. As he stated, you can submit feedback (using the link in LCR) or ask your stake president to discuss it with his priesthood leader. But it doesn't sound like there will be any change real soon.

The handbook allows missionaries to team with ward members, but doesn't support the idea of giving them their own route.

I don't have access to the home and visiting teaching tools, but there should be a way to record households or sisters as being visited independent of assigned teachers.combinola wrote:Right now the sisters that are being helped and served by these missionaries are listed as not contacted. From the "Visiting Teaching" page go to the "Households" tab and check the box for the sister's name being visit taught there. The current month plus the previous 12 months can be marked by clicking the sister's name and clicking "View Household Profile". The home teaching page for that sister will have sections for "Home Teachers", "Visiting Teachers", and her visiting teaching assignments. It is in the "Visiting Teachers" section that the current plus previous 12 months can be viewed or edited. Even if there is nobody assigned to visit teach a sister those 13 months can be viewed and edited.sbradshaw wrote:I don't have access to the home and visiting teaching tools, but there should be a way to record households or sisters as being visited independent of assigned teachers.
A note of caution: Sisters moving into your ward will have their visiting teaching record come with them. Do not make changes to those months prior to her arrival in your ward. If you do this will affect her previous ward's visiting teaching counts and statistics.

I thought if you marked previous months that the current ward assumed ownership of the months and that it affects the current ward's stats? Maybe it affects the other ward by completely removing the individual from the other ward's stats?jdlessley wrote:A note of caution: Sisters moving into your ward will have their visiting teaching record come with them. I believe it is more simple than that. The ward that has the record has the stats, whether they were entered by the previous ward or not.mevans wrote:I thought if you marked previous months that the current ward assumed ownership of the months and that it affects the current ward's stats? I do not know the exact details, but the system keeps some statistics as they were originally computed and does not change them. The system also computes some statistics, and sometimes computes them again.
Any time the system computes statistics, it uses the membership records that are currently in the ward. So if an old statistic gets computed again for some reason, it may very well change based on the new complement of membership records at hand.

Just getting back to the conversation. Thanks for all the comments. We are trying every method we can think of to get all our visits recorded, including most of those all of you have mentioned. If anyone has more suggestions to make the system work even better, I would love to hear them.
