Changing Permissions for Callings on LCR
The visiting teaching coordinator in our ward would like to input visits done by the sisters into LCR. But when she logs onto her user profile and tries to get onto LCR she is denied access. The help menu states that only the relief society president, her councilors, and the secretary can update the visiting teaching in LCR. Is there a way to allow permissions for the visiting teaching coordinator to input the visits?

Have the ward clerk check and make sure she has a standard calling and not a custom calling. He can log onto CDOL to check to see if the calling is in orange font or blank font. Orange font is a custom calling while black font is a standard calling.jeffakirkwood wrote:The visiting teaching coordinator in our ward would like to input visits done by the sisters into LCR. Also make sure she's using her account and not her husband's. The next check would be to make sure the MRN on the account she's using matches the MRN in the system.

Another thing to try: check what URL she's using. To be safe, you could have her get to Leader and Clerk Resources from the LDS.org menu. She may be trying to access a page on Leader and Clerk Resources that someone else has access to (someone who sent her the link or someone who used the same computer and it autocompleted the URL) but she doesn't. Trying to access a specific report or section of Leader and Clerk Resources you don't have permissions for will give you an Access Denied error.

Our Primary President has a Secretary but also an assistant secretary. She (the assistant secretary) needs permission to do the roll but doesn't. I can't assign her to be the secretary because there's only one allowed. How does she get permission to enter attendance information?

Re: Changing Permissions for Callings on LCR
You cannot give her permission. She is either the president, a counselor, or the secretary. The General Handbook does not provide for an assistant secretary, and so neither does LCR. No one else in the Primary organization will be able to enter attendance information in LCR.
If the Primary president feels the need for an assistant secretary, she will need to define her duties to support the secretary who will actually enter the information.
You may also make a suggestion through the feedback link at LCR or to your bishop and stake president through priesthood channels. But LCR only gives permission to standard callings, and this position is not one of them.

In addition to what lajackson has said, I'll note that the position of Secretary is optional. As such, the Brethren are not invisioning that the job exceeds the abilities of one person even in a large ward.

Re: Changing Permissions for Callings on LCR
Is there anyway to see the default permissions associated with a given calling? the RS president notified me that the service coordinator isn't able to see ministering assignments and I don't know if its an issue or if that access isn't default to her calling. Would be a helpful guide in general to know what access callings should have.

Re: Changing Permissions for Callings on LCR
LCR has an access table that shows what callings get certain permissions. You don't even need to have an LCR calling to see it, as I don't and are able.

Re: Changing Permissions for Callings on LCR
The "Access Table" inside LCR provides exactly that (inside LCR, select "Other => Access Table"). Looking at the listing for "Relief Society Service Coordinator", she should have access to the "Ministering Assignments Summary", which in LCR I find under "Ministering => Reports".
Perhaps she is trying to see the actual ministering assignments (no access), and not the summary report (yes access)?
