Updating Callings and Settings Apart

Originally that was supposed to be available in 2014. What's the projected date now? I'm a membership clerk and four wards meet in our building. It's very hard to get to a computer to update MLS on Sunday. It's a half hour drive each way to do it at the church and the meetinghouse isn't heated on weekdays in the winter. I would love to be able to do this at home.

There is no publicly-announced projected date – we know it's being worked on currently, but we don't know when. There will probably be more details about a final release time frame when certain stakes receive beta access (and I'm sure you'll hear about it on the forums!), but so far no wide beta period has started.

Also, these features are coming with Leader and Clerk Resources 3.0. Version 2.8 was just released, so we should expect a 2.9 release in between.

I don't recall a time line for that, but there is some indication that it will be connected with the HT/VT (for leaders) that is scheduled to go live this quarter. But I've learnled to believe it when I see it. Another delay is not out of the relm of possibilities.

There is a significant effort to get not only callings management online but also home teaching and visiting teaching online. The original announcement was for late 2014. This release date was moved out to first quarter 2015 as noted in this thread and in this thread. We have thirty more days to wait before this timeline expires. But even so, the release could be pushed out again. Just note that this is one of the very few releases in which we have been given a date. For the most part we get programs and updates to programs when we get them without any announcements of internal program development timelines.

Actually, this timeline way back in 2013 slated callings functionality to come out in Fall 2013:

I would like to kindly let people know that something like this has a lot of things that need to be worked out before it can be released as well there have been a lot of disheartening tech security announcements the past 3 years that might have been a major factor in the delays.

This has been released in the LCR 3.0 update on LDS.org. Unit leaders, to include auxiliary presidencies, can manage callings in LCR (Leader and Clerk Resources).
