Record time

#1

Post by RichardsED »

We've been trying to figure out why it takes 2-4 weeks to receive records once they've been requested.

Does anyone know?

Where are the records coming from? Is it the same area (US/Canada), or is it from another area?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

As you request a record from Clerk Resources on LDS.org, you can know immediately if the record will come easily (as noted here). So as long as you're supplying enough specific information (MRN and birthdate, for example), you should get the records very quickly.

You don't have that luxury with MLS -- that's one of the great benefits of requesting records via Clerk Resources.

I've never seen a delay of more than a day or two even when making a request from MLS.

But you should be able to request records using the Leader Resources or Clerk Resources site and have the records moved instantly. These records show up in Leader and Clerk Resources and in the on-line directory without any delay.

There is a small delay before the records will download to MLS but I've never see a delay of more than a few hours.

Yeah-- ours takes AT LEAST a week and sometimes 3-4 weeks. Is there some sorta refresh button or something? It's really strange. We are all scratching our heads here in Cache Valley... :(

Could you please clarify how you are requesting the records (MLS or Clerk Resources), and where you are looking for them to appear (MLS or Clerk Resources)?

In MLS, the "refresh button" to see things that have been changed on Clerk Resources is simply the standard Send/Receive. In some cases you may need to use the Request Unit Data Refresh, but that should be rare.

In Clerk Resources, you generally don't need to do a refresh; in some rare cases you may need to do a browser refresh.
