Member List Print - Not Correct Order

I have just printed off a Member List from Clerk Resources for the YSA in each of our units - I noticed that the output of the Print PDF is not in the same order as the screen results.

The screen shows members sorted by Name, but when in PDF there doesn't seem to be any order that is recognisable. If I do not select an Organisation the results on the screen match the PDF print, but any organisation I select the PDF output is in a different order that doesn't seem logical.

Tried in Chrome and IE, same results.

For what it is worth, I tried to replicate your problem in Firefox 18.0.2 and couldn't. The *.pdf form for Clerk Resources->Organizations->Young Single Adults (18-30) matched what was on screen. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with Adobe Reader 10.1.5. All other organizations I've looked at also produce a *.pdf which matches the screen. I've also tried this in IE9 but couldn't reproduce your problem. What version of IE, Chrome, Windows and Adobe are you running?

I have also run the reports and printed them fine to PDF using Firefox 18.0.2 and Chrome 24.0.1312.57 m with no problems. My reports were only for my ward since I do not have a stake calling with access to other units.

Maybe that's the gotcha, because I can fully duplicate what Chris observed, and like him, my stake calling also allows access to see other units in my stake.

Just some observations I had playing around with it...
  • This oddity is not browser specific.
  • It happens for any unit selected.
  • It happens only when List by: is set to Single Adult, or Young Single Adult
  • It doesn't matter if the names on the screen are sorted ascending or descending, the exact same odd-sorted list appears in the PDF.
  • If the screen list is sorted by Birth Date (either asc. or desc.), the PDF will correctly sort the list by age, but within a given age group (e.g., all the 23 year olds) the Birth Dates appear to be unsorted.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at this and get it fixed.

In general, the PDF will print the same way the screen is sorted, etc. However, there are some differences. For example, on screens where you can filter by a member name, the PDF will still print the full data. Another example would be the Action and Interview List. On that screen, there are many different sections which can each be individually sorted. We decided it was not necessary to carry all of those individual sort options through to the PDF.
