Stake "Website Administrator" rights

I am the Ward "Website Administrator" and in working to in my calling, the Stake asked me to be the Stake "Website Administrator" and entered that calling for me into the Stake MLS.

As the Ward Website Administrator I can upload and approve photos, in my Ward and as the Stake Website Administrator I switched the Stake over to the new Directory and Calendar System.

I have not been able to assist any of the Ward Website Administrators with the Photo upload program. The tools are not available to me except in my own Ward. Some Wards do not have a Website Administrator called yet and I'd like to upload some photos in those Wards anyway (for Stake Callings and other requests).

Has the Stake made a mistake and put me in as a "Custom Position" Website Administrator or does the Stake calling just not give me the tools? Also a member of my ward wants to have me change her phone number on the Directory, and according to documentation that I've read - I should be able to do that.

Do you plan on opening more privileges for the Stake and Ward Website Administrators or are they already available and there is something not working correctly for me?

Thank you,
Philip Wayman

Stake rights only apply to the stake calendars. They do not provide any rights on ward calendars or in the Directory application.

Ward clerks, executive secretaries and bishopric members can all upload and approve photos as well. So you could try to get one of them to upload the photos for you.

No, the Stake calling does not allow you to upload photos. Your ward calling is what lets you upload photos in your own ward. Without that you wouldn't be able to upload even in your own ward with just the Stake calling.

At least one church employee has verified on these forums that the documentation is wrong. The Ward Website Administrator only has rights to upload and approve photos. To edit profile information like phone number and email address you have to be ward clerk, ward membership clerk, executive secretary or a bishopric member.

Most of us on the forum are just fellow users so we don't know what the future plans are. The trend in the new applications has been to only allow ward callings to change ward specific information. Other users on the forums have argued the need for greater rights on the stake level to allow the stake to better help the wards. But the best way to voice your own opinion and suggestions is to use the Submit Feedback link at the bottom of the Directory application. There isn't any guarantee that the developers will see suggestions in these forums.

You have all the correct and functioning rights. Check the calendar help, Managing Rights and Roles, and you will see that the stake website administrator only has administrator rights for the stake and not as an administrator over stake units. You have administrator rights over your ward by virtue of your ward website administrator position.

Check the directory help, Roles and Responsiblilities, for the rights you should have there. Your rights are also functioning correctly there.
