My wife and I are serving as senior missionaries and have access to membership data for both our home stake and our assigned stake using LDS Tools. However we have not succeeded in viewing photos for our assigned stake even after considerable effort by both home and assigned unit membership clerks.
Now, our Mission President has asked me to find out how each of the senior missionaries in the mission can have access to assigned unit photos (with step-by-step instructions).
Can anyone help?

Re: Missionaries not seeing photos
I split this topic into a new thread as this is a different problem.
Are you seeing this in the directory on lds.org, LDS Tools, or both? I'd start by comparing what you can see with ordinary members of the stake. Leaders (members of the bishopric or stake presidency) can see unapproved photos, so it may be throwing off what they think others can see.
The two things we have to address is if there are photos and if they are approved. If it's not that, then it's a bug and there's nothing local leaders can do, but we need to report that to the developers.

Make sure that the out of unit missionaries have standard ward callings, aka ward missionaries. Can the clerk see the photos in LDS.org directory?

Given that they can see the directory, I doubt if that's the issue.Miknmaur wrote:Make sure that the out of unit missionaries have standard ward callings, aka ward missionaries.
Checking with the clerk would confirm there are photos, but not necessarily that they have been approved and are visible to the general membership. That's why I suggested they check with an ordinary member.Miknmaur wrote:Can the clerk see the photos in LDS.org directory?

Re: Missionaries not seeing photos
As a side note/clarification:
Full-time senior missionaries do not need to have an out-of-unit member record and be entered into a standard calling in order for them to have access to ward/stake directories (both via LDS.org Directory and LDS Tools). They only need to be associated to a proselyting area and Church unit, which is done by the mission office via IMOS. (This same process is also done by the mission office for junior elders and sisters).
If missionaries have actually been issued a calling by local ward/stake leaders (in consultation with their mission president), then they definitely should be added into a calling in MLS. But adding them just so they can have access to ward/stake directories is no longer needed.

As for the original problem, has this been submitted to the LDS Tools team via the Feedback option within the app? That would probably be the most helpful method of finding an answer.
