Block people from seeing contact info

Is there a way to hide the names of children in a household on the ward/stake directory? I think it is scary that everyone in a stake can see the names and addresses of all the minor children in the stake.

Also, are there safety measures in place for people who have had convictions of pedophilia to not have access to all the names and addresses of the children in the stake?

I know I can remove my contact info from everyone, but that's not really a functional solution. There are some people I'd like to have access to our info, but just not everyone in the stake. Can we block some people from seeing our address/phone numbers/email addresses but not all?

I think this is a really important safety measure that needs to be implemented if it hasn't already. Stalking is a real thing.

Actually except for certain stake leaders (basically the stake presidency and stake clerks), members cannot see any information about minors in wards other than their own.

You can set things so your information is available only to members of your ward (and the stake leaders mentioned above). Or you can set things so your information is only available to the bishopric (including clerks and executive secretary) and the stake leaders. There are not more specific options than that.

I see the stake vs. ward thing now, thanks.

I know you can block info from everyone except leadership, but I think there should also be a way to block certain people. That would be a feature I'd be interested in.

I also think that people who have marks on their record that they shouldn't be put in callings that interact with youth should automatically not be allowed to see the minor children in their ward directory. Is there a way to implement that?

I've not been in a situation where we've had anyone like that in our ward so I don't know what, if anything, is in place. If you have a situation in your ward that concerns you, I'd suggest asking your bishop to contact local unit support to see what can be done. If that doesn't resolve your concerns he can work with the stake president to make a request though his priesthood leadership.

Regardless, you can also submit feedback using any feedback link on lds.org.

I've not seen that issue come up. That feature might be there, but would require someone in the bishopric or stake presidency to contact CHQ. I know in the first version of the Local Unit Website there was a feature to lock individual people out of the system. I'd expect that feature to be there in the current system - just not directly available to the local leaders.
