Can Youth Indicate Their Own Email Addresses on Directory?

The Young Women president of my ward uses the ward website calendar to send event reminders via email regarding the young women mutual activities. She would like to be able to send the reminders directly to the young womens' email. However, no email addresses are listed for any youth on the directory. Can youth under age 18 indicate their own email addresses on the Directory and be able to receive email messages from the ward website calendar? Or does the email need to go to the email address of a parent (head of household)?

Household members under 18 years of age cannot edit any information for the household or for themselves. Parents/Guardians (heads of household) can make the changes. Ward administrators can also make changes; but those changes should only be made with the approval of the minor's parents/guardians.

The alternative to adding the youth e-mail addresses to the household profile is to send messages to the household e-mail address or to one of the heads of household.

For example, how can we get an email address listed under "ward organizations" in the Directory under "Beehives" for the head of houshold's 12 year old daughter?

The parents can enter the email for their daughter on lds.org or a clerk can add it if they have explicit permission from the parents.
