Stake Clerk unable to see email addresses

I'm a Stake Clerk - Technology Specialist. While performing one of my other callings (Stake Auditor) I discovered that I'm unable to see the email addresses of some people in our stake. I understand that individuals can set their contact information to different visibility levels (admin-only, ward-only, stake). But the documentation (under "Set Privacy Levels for Each Household Member") says that administrators should be able to see everything, regardless of privacy level. This page says that stake tech specialists are administrators.

I'm wondering if this is a bug in the way lds.org resolves permissions between multiple callings that grant differing levels of administrative access. In addition to being a stake clerk, I'm also the website administrator for our ward. That calling would grant be visibility to everything in our ward, but not the stake. If the permission levels between those callings aren't being merged properly, it seem like this would be a possible result.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I was having this same problem with callings as both a stake clerk and ward clerk. The default was always the ward calling so I was prevented from any thing that needed a stake calling. This was fixed in an update to Clerk Resources several months ago. I can now choose which of my callings I want to use for access. Maybe they will do this for your callings.....

In the upper right on the Clerk Resources page, there is a choice to Select a Role. It then lets me choose either my stake or ward calling.

I'm a STS, but I lost my admin rights a month ago. I believe it was due to the fact that too many people were able to see a member's MRN. Removing a number of positions from admin was the quick fix. We don't know when this will be fixed properly.

The thread Ability to Manage Photos is Missing has others experiencing similar disruption.
Have you searched the Wiki?

I don't even have a Clerk Resources page. I have a Leader Resources page, which doesn't seem right. I may have a troublesome combination of callings that represents an edge case in the permissions handling mechanism. :-b My full list of callings is:

Stake Assistant Clerk--Technology Specialist
Stake Auditor
Website Administrator (for my ward)
Elders Quorum Instructor

All the callings are MLS built-ins, not custom. I'm just guessing, but the conflict might be between the clerk and auditor callings. As an auditor I need (and have) access to LUFAS (Local Unit Financial Auditing System), which appears in the "Applications" menu on my Leader Resources page.

Although it seems odd, that is correct. The STS does not have access to Clerk Resources but does have access to a version of the Leader Resources that is customized for the STS.

I don't think there is any problem with your combination of callings. Based on what russellhltn said, the STS does not have admin rights in the Directory anymore (at least temporarily--maybe that will change or maybe not--we don't know) and from the other thread he mentions we know that Website Administrators don't have all the rights they used to either. Stake Auditor and EQ Instructor have never give any rights to the Directory. So it sounds like you've got the rights that would be expected given the current situation.

Strange, but true. You may find clerksupport.lds.org the most useful for your STS calling.
