I was asked how I would like to send my e mail. I mistakenly clicked on Microsoft Outlook instead of Mail. I would like to use the mail app so how do I change that setting?

You posted in the Directory forum. The online Directory does not use any apps to send messages. Instead the list of e-mail addresses are presented for copy/paste operations. You then open your e-mail client and paste the list of addresses. Perhaps you are referring to the e-mail function in Leader and Clerk Resources? I don't recall how that functions since I no longer have access.

You were most likely asked how you want to send email because you clicked on someone's email address in the Directory. That action would lead to your operating system trying to open up your default email client. If you had not previously selected your default, you might very well be asked what you would like to be your default email program.

Once you've made that selection, you'll have to use your operating system's feature for changing your default email program. You didn't mention your operating system. If, for example, you are using Windows 7, you can change the default email program by going to Start > Default Programs > Set your default programs. You need to select the URL:MailTo Protocol for the program you now want to handle sending your email. If you have a different operating system, let us know what that is.
