Access for the Young Single Adult Adviser Calling

Hello,

I am the Ward Clerk of a YSA ward that covers multiple Stakes. These Stakes have been using married couples in the Young Single Adult Advisers calling (talked about in section 16.3.3 of handbook 2) in their family wards.

This is the question. On LDS.org would it be possible for these couples to gain access to the "Young Single Adults" and "Single Adults" views in the Clerk's resources section under Organizations and Single Adults?

Second part to this question. Some of these couples, under the direction of their Stake leadership server more than one family ward in their Stake. Would they be able to to gain access to those same lists for all the wards they are assigned? There are a couple different ways that I see this. Currently there are the out of unit member records that could be created in each of the wards they are assigned to and given the assignment. Or it could be a Stake level calling where when the Stake puts the calling in the computer they list the units in their Stake they would be assigned to.

Third part. Is is possible to give access to these Adviser Couples the directory information for our YSA ward. The Adviser Couples work with YSA's primarily and when they show interest and agree their records come over to our YSA Ward. For the Stakes other than the one our ward is officially part of, this means they need to come to one of the clerks to have a list produced with contact information every so often. Our ward also has a lot of turn over so these lists are often out of date minutes after printing them.

These questions have come after a discussion with one of the couples that servers multiple wards and has trouble communicating with the different clerks and other leaders to get regular information for their calling. The tools for most of this are available it would be more of extending the access to this additional calling, at least in my mind.

Thanks for your comments and thoughts

The answer to this question is found in the access table for Clerk Resources. Access to Clerk Resources is limited to the bishop, bishopric counselors, executive secretary, clerk, assistant clerk, and assistant clerk-membership. For the single adult advisers to have access to any data available on Clerk Resources they would need to have one of those callings in MLS.

Since single adult advisers cannot access Clerk Resources in their own ward they will not be able to gain access in any other ward. Just for the sake of discussion, if they did have access to Clerk Resources in their own ward the method to grant access in another ward is to create an out of unit record and then add them in that calling in that ward. Creating an out of unit record will grant the same access any other member of that unit will have. But access to Clerk Resources is not currently available for their home ward or for their out of unit ward(s).

Creating an out of unit record will grant the single adult advisers access to the ward directory just as any other member of the ward has.

I am not certain how having multiple out of unit records would work on the Directory. Currently I have only seen discussions about having one out of unit leadership position in one other ward. For this situation the out of unit leader accesses the out of unit directory by selecting it from the list of units available to them in the unit drop-down list. I do not know if having multiple out of unit assignments would all show on the Directory.
