How do I determine if the building is available?

We seem to be experiencing some difficulty in scheduling the building on the new calendar and it is resulting in conflicts. I have gone in and scheduled my events and reserved the rooms that I needed. Another ward went and looked at the calendar and didn't not see my reservation. Therefore they assumed the building was available. Is there a way to determine if the building is available without attempting to schedule your event?

Yes. Anyone can go to Week view and check the box by the location under Available Locations. That will cause all events that use that location to be displayed (regardless of what calendar they are on). For a specific time you are interested in, you may need to look at the details of an event or two to determine what specific rooms are scheduled, but that should be pretty easy.

But in any case, it's not a very good assumption to think that the building is available just because you don't see a conflict right off. And what action would they take after they made that assumption? If their action is anything besides actually trying to schedule an event that uses the location, they run the risk of not getting the building -- after all, anyone else could schedule the building at any time. And if they try to schedule an event, they will see the conflict, even if they didn't know how to see it by using the Available Locations checkbox.
