When i set my ward calendar to send e-mail reminder to later and put in the days, this feature seems to not be working correctly. The reminders go out as if I had set them to hours and minutes before the event. If there a fix?

Not yet. See the thread Notification issue, and the threads linked to from that thread. Many of us assume (or at least have great hope) that the major Calendar revision that is due to be released soon will fix this and other issues.
