Help - Times not saving correctly in calendars

I am adding items into our Branch Calendar. I will select the correct time, but it is saving as an hour earlier than the time I am specifying. Anyone else encountering this problem? It doesn't happen to every entry, but I cannot figure out a way to fix it when it does occur.

One way to work around this is to enter and save the event at a slightly different time, and then using Week view (instead of Month view), drag the event to the correct time slot. The only event I haven't been able to correct using this method is the event marking the beginning of Daylight Saving Time; the Calendar app will not allow an event to be placed between 2:00am and 3:00am on the second Sunday in March. My work around for that ended up being changing that event to an "all day" event, and then changing the event's title from Daylight Savings Begins to Daylight Savings Begins at 2:00AM.

Another time-saver (no pun intended) I have discovered is that entering events using 4-digit military time (where 0800 = 8:00 a.m., and 1310 = 1:10 p.m.) saves me a lot of extra typing.

Another feature/quirk I have noticed is that when adding a new event, the Event Details pop-up window defaults the start time to the next whole hour and the end time one hour later. For me this means that if I try to add and event at 9:47pm, the Event Details window will default the start time to 10:00pm and the end time to 11pm. If I am adding events at or after 10:00pm, the default start time is 11:00pm and the end time is 12:00am on the following day. Thus I have to either not add events after 9:59PM, or I have to manually adjust the end date as well as the end time. If I am entering dates after 10:59pm, the default start time will be midnight the following day; thus (in month view) it is easier to just click on the day before so that I only have to adjust the start and end times (or even easier to just avoid adding events that late at night).
