Managing Calendars between Stake and Wards

Does anyone have suggestions about managing the calendars on the new calendar system between the various wards and stake? At the first of the year I set up calendars for our stake activities (YM, YW, RS, etc.) and assigned events to these. The wards started using the same calendars so now if you subscribe to the YM calendar you get ward and stake information. Are there other suggestions on organizing these?

This topic has been discussed for some time in the thread Calendar Best Practices. Check it out.

Wards should not have any access to edit stake calendars, unless you at the stake level have specifically given ward members/leaders editor permissions. By default, the stake manages stake calendars and wards manage ward calendars, so wards shouldn't be able to add ward events to stake calendars.

To clarify: Are you saying some ward leaders are placing their ward events on your stake-wide calendar?
Or, are you saying the ward leaders are placing stake events on their own ward calendars?

If it is the first, then confusion would reign-

If it is the second, there has been much discussion about events across multiple calendars. The bottom line: How to insure that something important gets seen by those who need to see it- even if they don't subscribe to all the calendars.
