I am a Stake Website Administrator and Building Specialist. I have tried and tried to DELETE AN EVENT and just get a "circle of doom" with a message "Sorry, the data service has failed. Please contact Support." i have tried changing the event, deleting just the Repeating Event and on and on. I have been dealing with this Calendar since its inception and am very skilled in its use so we are not talking operator error here. Also, in the midst of all of this trying, the Event has one date and the repeating event is due to stop one month BEFORE the actual Event date. What can I do? This is, obviously, a very difficult time for the Calendar to have such trouble as all organizations are working to get the schedule on it. I appreciate any help you can give.

Kjens,
You'll want to provide feedback on the link at the bottom of the calendar page, this page isn't monitored by the church it's a member-helping-member thing.

Re: Unable to delete repeating event
If this is an event in a series of repeating events, try changing something about the event and then, if that works, deleting it.kjens wrote:"circle of doom"
If this event is supposed to be part of the repeating event, try changing the ending date of the repeating event so that this event falls within the range of the start and stop dates. They try deleting again.
And when all else fails, contact Support, i.e., the Global Service Center.

Re: Unable to delete repeating event
IIRC, repeating events can't span more than two years. If you're changing the end date, you may have to change the start date as well. In fact, I'd try changing the start date first - and saving. Then doing the end date. Doing both at the same time may cause an issue.

I have done all of that but it won't keep it. Initially, it looked like it worked but when I moved to another page and back, there it was again! I will have to contact Global Support. Thanks for all of your feedback ~ I really appreciate it!
