Calendar Not Enforcing Restrictions?

One of our ward schedulers has noticed that as of recently the calendar does not seem to be enforcing restrictions appropriately. It appears that building schedulers from different units are able to schedule events despite a restriction in place from another unit. I tried to test this by scheduling an event during a restriction and it allowed the even, however I'm guessing it was because of my role as calendar administrator.

Is there a better way to test for enforcement or calendar restrictions, or is there a known issue with restrictions not being enforced?

Thank you!

When you say "building scheduler" are they added as a building scheduler in the calendar itself? I'm not sure how it works now, but it used to be that restrictions were not enforced against building schedulers. Just against regular calendar schedulers.

Also, what was the restriction? Restrictions can only be placed by the calendar building scheduler - and is basically a stake function. Not something done by individual units.

I think that comment answered the concern that had been raised. I did some additional research and it seems like overriding restrictions is limited to Building Schedulers and does not extend to other callings.

The issue initially came up when because we have multiple units sharing a building and when the Building Scheduler one unit schedules a restriction for a set of days another Building Scheduler from a different ward is able to override the initial restriction. What the units were hoping for is the ability to prevent another unit from scheduling over a restriction their unit had in place. Seems like by design that is not the case (and it makes sense as they all have the rights associated with "Building Scheduler" in MLS).

Although it would be nice to further lock down restrictions, it seems like a good alternative solution is for schedulers to ensure they manually review the dates on the calendar (so they see the restriction) before scheduling an event.

Thank you for the comment, it helped me see where I needed to go.

This demonstrates the importance of having members of ward councils and stake councils create their own calendar events -- not building schedulers. The only events that building schedulers should create are for those people from outside the unit, who do not have the ability to create events on any unit calendar. For example, missionary zone conferences, and out-of-unit wedding receptions are events typically created by building schedulers, because the people requesting the creation of those events do not have access to any ward or stake calendar.
