Building calendar visibility

My wife is the building scheduler for our stake center, and has created a calendar for this purpose. Although others can subscribe to the Stake Center calendar, nobody else can see the events she puts there.

I've verified that the visibility in the calendar settings is "Entire Unit," and that the calendar is for "Torrance California Stake." Any ideas on why the events she schedules are visible only to her?

I'd discourage that. There's already a facility calendar under locations that she can use to schedule. It can't be subscribed to, but having a separate calendar that's only used for scheduling the building makes it confusing. (That might be where others are looking.) If she fails to schedule the building in her calendar, then a unit will be able to schedule the building during that time. But if she schedules in the facility calendar, it will effectively block anyone else from scheduling anything for that building/room.

This is the facility calendar.

You can't create a facility calendar. nor can you set permissions to view it, nor can you subscribe to it. It's just there. And it won't show anywhere except the lds.org website.

Creating a stake calendar and calling it a facility calendar doesn't make it so - and leads to confusion.

What leads to confusion is the invisibility of the calendar. People who schedule events want to see them. If that takes a second "non-facility" calendar, so be it.

You may have to sit down with a user to see what's going wrong. If the calendar has been created correctly, then it's up to the user to subscribe to it. But that detail isn't completely obvious and they may be confusing the one you created with the built-in facility calendar.

This still seems to be an issue. We have a Stake Calendar that falls under the "Locations" category but you cannot subscribe to it on the mobile apps. It also does not show up under the list of calendar items in LCR. Any ideas??

I would guess that it's not a stand "calendar" but a "stake center" calendar. Perhaps the "building scheduler" is scheduling things on the location calendar because he/she doesn't have access to the various calendars needed to schedule things properly - or perhaps they don't know any better.

Really, the only fix is to have things scheduled properly as "events" on normal calendars. And that means that each unit will need to do their own scheduling.
