Modifying recurring events like google calendar

Postby bhfailor » Fri Feb 05, 2016 7:16 am

I want to be able to change one event in a series without having to modify the series and then recreate it on the next scheduled occurrence. For example, the ward council typically meets at 8 AM on first Sunday of the month. But this month we meet at a different time. To change the meeting time I need to change the meeting from recurring and change the time. Then go to the next meeting time and create a new recurring event at the original time. Would like to be able to change one event in a series without affecting the other events. See the way that google calendar handles a series of recurring events.

Also not able to post feedback form!

This can already be done. Just create the recurring series for the full date range. Then for the exception, edit the single event to be at the new time (or location or description or whatever the exception is). When you click "Update Event" you will be presented with a popup that says: "You are changing a repeating event. Would you like to change only this event, the entire series, or this and all future events?" with options "Only this event", "Entire series", and "All following events". Choose "Only this event". All the other events will remain as they were.
