Hyperlink in calendars

The stake YW/YW have requested to add hyperlinks to the event description box in the Calendar for events. I have been able to create a hyperlink (shows what level i'm at) in a "word" document and link what they would like but have no clue in how to get the word document holding the hyperlink into that event box in LDS calendars.
I don't know if there is a way to move a hyperlink into this box or if you create the hyperlink right in the box itself.
Any insight would be helpful

I don't think the calendar will take rich text formatting, so copying from Word isn't going to help at all. The way I was able to do it was by using Notepad and using HTML hyperlink code.
For example

Face to Face with Elder Rasband, Sister Oscarson, and Brother Owen. See more information <a href="http://www.lds.org/youth/activities/face-to-face-events/rasband-oscarson-owen?cid=HP_TU_1-12-2016_dCN_fCNWS_xLIDyL1-B_&lang=eng">here</a>
http works, https doesn't work. And if you or anyone else goes in to edit the event, the link will disappear.

Do you know if there are plans to update the calendar to take rich text formatting? I'm trying to add a link to our gospel doctrine lessons in our calendar events. What a blessing it would be for our ward members to access the lesson by simply clicking a link in their lds tools app calendar on their phone. Thanks
