Need to be able to share events/facilities with multiple calendars (endorsements requested)

I've reviewed the multiple posts, and there is a recurring theme that other users also have a requirement like mine. Namely:
We need to be able to share events and locations with multiple organizational calendars.
There are multiple occasions that multiple organizations, or even wards, join together for an event. For instance, Combined Activities for Young Men and Young Women. In our little town, the two wards frequently share Scouting activities. The list goes on. The calendar function on the site would be so much more effective if we were able to schedule the event, and invite other "calendar" organizations to attend it, so that updates to the event updated all calendars, and so that the location reservation could be shared, rather than trying to figure out who should actually schedule the room/rooms on their individual events.
I would think that ideally calendars could be set up at the lowest organizational level (Deacons, Teachers, Priests, Beehives, Mia Maids, Laurels, Elders, High Priests). When the Young Men had an activity, they would just invite all their quorums; preferably, they could set up a standing "set" of calendars that would schedule the quorums each time, rather than have to rebuild the list. That would also make managing calendars for the members much easier; they would just subscribe to, and see, events they actually wanted to see.
