Link to Newsletter

In our stake we have events announced on the calendar,then the details on where, how, etc... is placed in the newsletter section.
To link the two, so far we've only been able to copy/paste the url of the newsletter page inside the detail section of the event. But this is a very long url and it cannot be clicked. Not very user friendly. HTML tags are automatically removed for reasons I can understand, so it means we cannot use <a> tag's either.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the possibility to link the two together. The newsletter page could benefit also of displaying a snapshot of the event (date and time) with a link back to the calendar.
This is to avoid duplicating information and make it easier to navigate.
