Creating events on multiple calendars

As building scheduler, I have rights to create and edit events on the building schedule calendar. I also have rights and responsibility to do so for our ward calendars. It would be greatly appreciated if I could select any or all calendars, for which I have rights, when creating events. I now must do double the work for every ward event that I create. When I schedule and create an event, I select the destination calendar from a drop-down list of calendars for which I have rights. It would be good to be able to check boxes for my authorized calendars to streamline the calendaring process.

That's what's causing the duplicate work. If all the events had the location added to them, the "building schedule" calendar will be unnecessary.

The building schedule calendar is essential. Our building houses three wards and the stake offices, for a total of four units. The building schedule calendar is a stake calendar, and all stake members may view it. It is maintained as a tool to use when planning and coordinating events for four units.

The 'location' element in the calendar is used in our stake to indicate which portion of the building is being reserved, such as: Chapel, RS Room, cultural hall, etc., not which building is to be used for an event.

My responsibilities as building scheduler include entering all events to be held in our building by any unit within our stake, and, as ward scheduler, entering all events into our ward calendar. The ability to enter an event on two calendars with one entry would be very helpful to me, and to all others who have similar responsibilities.

No, it isn't. And that's not how the system was designed to be used.

When you use a event to schedule a location, it blocks off the spot. No one else can enter an event that intrudes on that date/time/room.

The building schedule can be seen by switching to week view and checking off the appropriate location on the left side.

The whole idea of needing a building scheduler to enter all the events is passé and isn't really supported. Like many things, the building scheduler's main job has been replaced by computer.

My stake has exactly the same situation, and we don't have a "building calendar". It's all handled by placing events on the appropriate calendar and using locations.

You have to select the building before you can select the room. I wonder if the stake failed to set up the building to be scheduled - leaving you with no choice but "No location" and "Other Location"? That might explain things.
