Alternate Email being used instead of Primary?

When I create events on the Calendar, the contact email address that is listed is what I have entered as my ALTERNATE email address in my Account Settings. It is not the email that I have listed as my "Primary Email" nor the email that I have entered as my "Ward Directory E-mail" (which is the same as my Primary).
Is this correct? Maybe I am misunderstanding what the "Alternate Email" is supposed to be? I couldn't find an official statement as to what the "Alternate Email" under our Account Settings is intended to be for. I thought it was an alternate just for recovery, for example. Instead do they mean that it is the email to be used online INSTEAD of the Primary?
If it is supposed to be used, then the Calendar Event is correct -- and I was just misunderstanding what the "Alternate Email" field was for. If it is not for that, then I think it is a bug in the Calendar that it lists my "Alternate Email" instead of my Primary or Ward Directory email.
