How can I get "tools" to open and stay in English, not Portuguese when I open or change any item in the menu? When I change the language to English, it reverts to Portuguese as soon as I try to (re)open any function. I have never set the default to Portuguese (because I don't/wouldn't know how). Thank you for your help.

Get out of any lds.org sites. Then try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

I think in the past, the least painful, effective way is to just edit the url. Put "/?lang=eng" (without the quotes) at the end of the URL.
