Private Calendar and Permissions

I am the Executive Ward Secretary and we have several Private calendars for the ward. If I give permission directly to an individual, then they have access to that calendar. However, if I give permission based on the calling, they do not get the permissions.

For example, I have given permissions to the Ward Executive Secretary to View and Edit the calendar. However, I do not have the ability to edit this particular calendar unless I give the permission directly to myself as a person not as a calling.

This seems to be a glitch. The callings have been updated in MLS as I am listed as the Ward Executive Secretary but I cannot add other people to this calendar unless my name is added to the permissions not my calling as the Ward Executive Secretary.

I hope this makes sense.

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

Private calendars seem to work differently than public calendars. It may be that this is intended, but I am not certain.

You might wish to look at this topic, especially the next to last post, to glean some additional quirks about permissions for private calendars. And you might find even more details if you wish to search for them.
