Cannot log out from the default calendar page

The goal is to log out from the default calendar screen so that another person can login.
  1. Navigate to lds.org
  2. Select "Sign In/Tools" drop down menu
  3. Select "Calendar"
  4. Enter log in credentials
  5. I am now at the default calendar screen
  6. Select "Sign In/Tools" drop down menu
  7. Select "Sign Out"
  8. Screen hangs (see Image-1)
  9. From the same browser tab, navigate to lds.org
  10. I appear to be signed out (see Image-2), but I am still signed in, as follows:
  11. Select "Sign In/Tools" drop down menu
  12. Select "Calendar"
  13. The website signs me in automatically (no credentials required)
  14. From this point, if I repeat steps 6 - 13, this is 100% repeatable (I cannot sign out using this method)
Workaround (continuing after step 5):
6. From the same browser tab, navigate to lds.org
7. Select "Sign In/Tools" drop down menu
8. Select "Sign Out"
9. I am now signed out. [/list]
This appears to be a bug. Is there a way to report this?

The official method of providing feedback is through the feedback link found on the LDS.org home page and any other LDS.org page with that link.

This seems very similar to a problem that occurs on the Lesson Schedules page when signing out. I don't know if the fix for that will also fix the Calendar or not. They said a fix would be out soon. I just tested Lesson Schedules and it's not fixed yet. I also see the problem you mention on the Calendar page when signing out.

Thanks, as suggested by JD Lessley above, I reported this via the lds.org feedback mechanism, and provided a link to this post. The link you've provided to your other post should serve to connect the two issues together.

I just tried this using the above steps and had not problem being log out of everything including the Tech Forms which was opened in another tab.

Interesting. This is 100% repeatable for me and others seem to be having similar problems. I wonder if it is a browser specific problem. I'm using Chrome, what are you using?

Earlier today I believe I was testing on Chrome Windows when I saw the problem. I just did Safari Mac, Chrome Mac, and Firefox Mac and notice the problem on all.

I just tried it again.

I logged in through the Tech Forms. Then signed in on LDS.org home page in a new tab, without having to sign in again since I was signed in through Tech Forms.

I then opened Calendar, Directory, Newsletter, Lesson Schedule, and Clerk Resources, all at once in different tabs and was automatically signed in.. Just as it should.

Then I clicked tools on the tab which I had the news letter open and clicked "sign out". I was automatically directed to the "sign in page". Just as it should.

I then tried to do something in each of the other opened tabs as it appears your still signed in. However when I did this I was automatically directed to the "sign in" page, since I had already signed out. Just as it should.

Not sure whats happening to others but its working as it should on my end.

You signed out from newsletter. That one works. When you got to the other pages, you were already signed out, so that's not a real test.

However, if you sign out from the Calendar page (after being successfully logged in), does it work for you?

The test is to log in, look at a specific app, and sign out from that app. Here are my results of signing out of each site:
Notes and Journal: success
Calendar: fail
Directory: success
Newsletter: success
Lesson Schedules: fail
Maps: success
LDS Account/Account Settings: success
Leader Resources: success
Clerk Resources: success
CDOL: success
