Accidentally deleted myself as calendar editor

I am a calendar administrator and I accidentally deleted myself from having viewing and editing rights to one of the calendars. Now I can't go back to that calendar to add myself back. Do I need to get another person with rights to that calendar to add me back on or is there a way I can do this myself?

If you are an administrator you have all the rights and do not need to be added as an editor.

That's true for public calendars, but not for private calendars.

If the original post is referring to a private calendar, then yes, the easiest way to get your permissions restored for that calendar is to have another editor add you back in.

That is interesting I just added myself to a private calendar using both my standard callings and my name with full edit/view rights. I did a test and could add/edit/view/delete with no problem. I'm a default Administration for ward calendars.

I did find something out though. When I added a event to the Private calendar sometimes it would post the "title" of the event in week view other times it would just post "Private event". I tried several calendars with several different event and received sporadic responses.

Just viewed my wife calendar and all the private events are grayed out and show title "private event". Just as it should be.

Done using my wifes log on did not think it would change login when I had her calender open in one window and my self logged in on the forms in another window. But it changed to hers during the reply. Gary_Miller

I am not the ward website administrator but my name, not calling, is on all the public calendars for viewing and editing. I am our ward tech specialist. Our ward is not currently using the calendar and I am trying to train the leaders and members how to use the calendar. At any rate I deleted myself from the Elders Quorum calendar and now I can't get back there. I suppose I will have to get a member of the presidency to log on and add me back. I will of course have to help them do this because, like I said, they don't know how to use it.

Are you sure that the private calendar you added yourself to was one you didn't already have rights to?

I'm wondering because I just did a test and verified that I have no rights to add myself (or anyone else, for that matter) to a private calendar that someone else created and to which I have not been added as an editor. That's exactly how it should work.

If it were to work the way you described, then the "private" calendar wouldn't really be private -- any administrator could gain access to it.

This is the problem you are not a calendar administrator only a calendar editor. You will have to have an administator and you back in as an editor. Better yet have them update you calling to website administrator in MLS and then you will have the admin rights by default. Or just have them add you as a calendar administrator by name, if they only have you working on the calendar.

I did not have editor rights.

I was the one who originally created the calendar. However, I have never had the editor rights.

Could be a problem. Because I tried two other calendars where I did not have editor rights to and was able to add/edit/view/delete events. I was also the one who created these calendars.
