Can not delete event

A repeating event was entered on a stake activities calendar, and boy did it repeat. It covers three months and is listed multiple times on each date. When I try to delete it (either single event or series) I get the message "Sorry, the data service has failed. Please contact support."
Any ideas where I should go from here?
