I am a RS President. My calendar suddenly will not allow me to schedule events.
What happened? Did I press a button wrong?

I would suggest working with your ward clerk to make sure your calling is recorded correctly and it getting synced to the CDOL. During a recent MLS upgrade, some callings had some problems. It may be related to that.
