Calendar Sync

I have set up a Sync from the lds.org calendar to a Google calendar that sync's to my calendar app on my iPad. Along with the usual ward calendar stuff we set up appointments on an lds.org calendar. The problem is that items (appointments and other things posted) added to the lds.org calendar take forever, sometime days, to sync to Google. Is there something I can do to speed up the sync frequency?

There's nothing that can be done at the church end. The church doesn't "push" the calendar. It's up to the receiver, in this case Google, to request the sync. If there's any settings in Google, I haven't found them.

Now, I'm not sure about iPad, but sometimes in Android you can turn off the sync for that one item and turn it back on and it will re-sync right then.

You also might want to look at having your iPad sync directly. From the other messages, you do have a choice of sync times there. Note that no device/calendar you have can request a sync more often then 9 minutes. This is a cumulative limit, not per-device.

It is my understanding that lds.org calendars only sync with a few apps. I'm not sure my calendar app is one of them. Am I wrong?

There are three mentioned by name, but I think it comes down to does your calendar app support getting a iCal file via a URL?

One of the ones mentioned is a Apple iCal. While I don't own a iPad myself, I see others posting here that talk about syncing to their device, so it must be possible. If nothing else, you can do it via LDS Tools app to be visible in the app.
