No Plus Sign to Add Events, and clicking dates won't open/do anything

I spoke with stake clerk and he says I should be able to add events by clicking on a date. I also don't have a plus sign on the top right to click to add events. Any suggestions on what is wrong?

That is a clear indication that you are not a calendar administrator or an editor for any calendar, at least no calendar that you are subscribed to.
Did the stake clerk tell you which calendar you are supposed to be an editor for? Have you subscribed to that calendar (by going into Settings > Subscriptions)?
