Email Notifications - Received by prior Stake member

Contacted by a former High Councilor that moved a couple of months ago to the neighboring stake - he received a batch of email reminders for next weeks Stake Conference. He has gone into lds.org and confirmed he sees the new Stake/Ward details.

I also checked CDOL and Ward records and confirm he was shifted out.

Can anyone provide any direction as to other places to check or what may cause this to happen? Notices are for events set months ago with the 5 days before option for reminder.
